Blackout. The machine is awake.
A co-op survival game where every machine is a kit of parts. Take them apart with your friends, and build yourselves up from what you took.

Ask for a keyPattern Retained is a co-op survival game set in Pacific Northwest logging country, a little way into the future. The machines that hunt you are kits of parts: take them apart cleanly and they become your tools, your armour and, one day, your allies.
The world split over the Link, an implant that joins you to a machine network. The ones who took it call themselves the Cultured. You are one of the people who didn't, holding out at Camp Seven with Zach, a software engineer who went off-grid before anyone else.
You start with your bare hands: wood, stone and fibre, then a hatchet, a camp and a fire. The machines come in packs, and they have parts, not health bars. Knock a plate off, hit the joint under it, and take the part whole; a sloppy hit spoils what you were after. What you take apart is what you build your survivor up from.
It all happens in one shared world that keeps going while you are away, with your friends and with whoever you meet on the road.
Plates, joints, cells and cores. Reading a machine is the skill, and a clean teardown pays the most.
Plate armour, better arrows and the guns themselves are made from machine parts at the Forge.
An official, persistent world. Party up, start a crew, and come back to a world that moved on.
Override a downed machine and rebuild it to fight for you.
